It's Shoveling Time: Revival (Genesis 26)
Elder Melvin takes us back to Genesis 26 to look at the wells dug by Isaac in the land of Gerar. We are reminded that we are all revival carriers with the ability to dig and re-dig wells in our lives, to spring forth rivers of living water and the witness of Jesus Christ.
It's Shoveling Time: Clogged Wells (Genesis 26)
Elder Melvin begins a series beginning in Genesis 26, wherein we see Isaac clearing out wells which had been stopped up. Elder Melvin draws truths from the scripture to identify the wells of living water in our lives, and how they can sometimes be clogged.
Faith is Focus (Matthew 14)
Elder Melvin looks in the book of Matthew at the story of the feeding of the five thousand, which is immediately followed by Peter's faltering faith in the middle of a storm. In our lives we often face fast transitions from really good to really bad, and Elder Melvin looks at how such experiences show us the meaning of true faith.
From Milk to Meat (Colossians 1:28-29)
Elder Melvin reads the words of Paul in Colossians and 1 Corinthians to shed light on lessons for the followers of Christ in the church.
When in Uz (Job)
Elder Melvin looks at the story of Job, in which we see a man endure a great many hardships. From this story we learn how to approach dealing with the left hooks that so often strike in our own lives, and are reminded of our good God.
The Quickening of Dry Bones (Ezekiel 37)
Reading from Ezekiel 37, Elder Melvin shows how God takes us from spiritual death to life. He emphasizes that having been completely spiritually dead, being now in the Spirit and knowing God is no thanks to ourselves, but to the goodness of God Almighty and His Spirit.
Resurrection Power (Romans 8:11)
Speaker:
Chris Taylor
Date:
Brother Chris Taylor gives a message from the book of Romans while Elder Melvin is away. Brother Taylor focuses on the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and what it really means for us.
The Passion of Love
Elder Mike Ivey concludes our spring meeting and his focus on the theme of love by considering passionate love, the most intimate expression reserved by God’s command for a husband and wife in marriage. Scripture tells us that this passionate love points us toward the delight and fulfillment we mutually have with Christ through carrying out our mission as his disciples.
The Sword of Goliath (1 Samuel 21:8-9)
Elder Marty Smith continues our spring meeting by observing David resort to the house of God in a time of great trouble, where the priest gives him the sword of Goliath. This sword was not only of practical use as a mighty weapon, it was a reminder to David and to us that salvation is from the Lord.
Three Crucial Questions (Acts 9:1-7)
Elder Marty Smith continues our spring meeting by examining the questions Paul wrestled with after his spiritual awakening. Every one of us should also ask the same three questions to give our lives the proper purpose and focus. Who is the Lord? What would he have me do? And who am I?
