Elder Melvin begins a study in the book of Esther, examining the concepts of our "shadow mission" and our "true mission." Our shadow mission can often captivate us with false promises of fulfillment, but scripture shows us that fulfillment and joy only comes from one source, and through one mission.

Elder Melvin gives a special message to a new member of the church, preaching from the book of Colossians beginning in chapter 3. From the words of the apostle Paul he illustrates the idea of "Laundry Hamper Christianity," shedding light on which clothes we should put on, as well as which to take off and put away.

Elder Melvin begins a series beginning in Genesis 26, wherein we see Isaac clearing out wells which had been stopped up. Elder Melvin draws truths from the scripture to identify the wells of living water in our lives, and how they can sometimes be clogged.

Elder Melvin looks in the book of Matthew at the story of the feeding of the five thousand, which is immediately followed by Peter's faltering faith in the middle of a storm. In our lives we often face fast transitions from really good to really bad, and Elder Melvin looks at how such experiences show us the meaning of true faith.

Elder Melvin reads the words of Paul in Colossians and 1 Corinthians to shed light on lessons for the followers of Christ in the church.

Elder Melvin looks at the story of Job, in which we see a man endure a great many hardships. From this story we learn how to approach dealing with the left hooks that so often strike in our own lives, and are reminded of our good God.

Reading from Ezekiel 37, Elder Melvin shows how God takes us from spiritual death to life. He emphasizes that having been completely spiritually dead, being now in the Spirit and knowing God is no thanks to ourselves, but to the goodness of God Almighty and His Spirit.

Brother Chris Taylor gives a message from the book of Romans while Elder Melvin is away. Brother Taylor focuses on the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and what it really means for us.

Elder Mike Ivey concludes our spring meeting and his focus on the theme of love by considering passionate love, the most intimate expression reserved by God’s command for a husband and wife in marriage. Scripture tells us that this passionate love points us toward the delight and fulfillment we mutually have with Christ through carrying out our mission as his disciples.
