A Promise for the Ages

In Genesis 3:14-15, we read about the results of Adam and Eve's transgression. Imagine the weight they felt after their fall, having actually been perfect, unlike any of us. What gave them hope and what gives us strength to go on today is the promise that Christ will prevail!
Legalism
Join Pastor Melvin in 1 Samuel 14:24 where Saul makes a rule forbidding eating until the evening instead of celebrating the victory over the Philistines that God had given Israel that very day. Legalism, adhering to rules in fear of instead of out of love for the law giver, takes the honey out of holiness.
Jonathan's Faith Versus Saul's Fear
Pastor Melvin shows us in 1 Samuel 14:8-23, where Jonathan and his armor bearer go up against the Philistines, that sometimes faith is exhausting! God doesn't "need" you, but he invites you to participate in bringing his will to pass. Instead of measuring your odds, measure your God!
Fire of Jonathan's Faith
Pastor Melvin takes us to 1 Samuel 14:1-7 and shows us how quality (the power of our God) wins out over quantity (our own ability and resourses) every time. Jonathan's faith that he and his armor bearer could defeat 3,000 Philistines was based not in knowing how but in trusting who.

Join Brother Arnold as he takes us to Ephesians 3 and 1 John 4 to explore the profound, unchanging nature of God's love. Discover how you can find your assurance and identity in God's finished work.
When Your Strength Does Not Match Your Struggle
Pastor J. S. Melvin takes us to 1 Samuel 13 and shows us how God can use something small to make a big difference. Victory is not about you or what you have, but about your God and the miracles he can perform.
Our Failures Don't Cancel God's Faithfulness
Pastor J. S. Melvin takes us to 1 Samuel 12 and reminds us not to mistake God's patience for his permission, but instead to run to God, confess our sins, and serve him in gratitude for what he has done for us.
Mountains and Mercy
Pastor Melvin draws from 1 Samuel 11, where Israel faces overwhelming, mountain-sized odds and the temptation to surrender in shame. Yet, God intervenes through unlikely means—raising up Saul and redeeming a troubled city—to bring deliverance and unity. Even when we feel surrounded and inadequate, God’s grace is already at work, turning our weakest moments into opportunities for hope and restoration.
Called from the Ordinary
Pastor Melvin takes us to 1 Samuel 10, showing how God’s sovereignty interrupts the ordinary and calls even the unlikely—like Saul, hiding among the baggage—to extraordinary purpose. Join us to be reminded how God’s grace equips and transforms us, working through our weaknesses to fulfill His plans.
God Qualifies the Chosen
Sometimes when you are going through the motions of the ordinary, God leads you to the extraordinary. Pastor Melvin shows us this in Samuel 9, where we read the story of how Saul, in searching for his father's donkeys, finds Samuel the prophet.
